Which Massage Is Right for You? Listen to What Your Body Needs🌷🙌 Your simple guide to choosing the right massage for how you feel today.
Hello Beautiful Soul,🌷
Have you ever opened a massage menu and wondered, “Which treatment do I actually need?”
Maybe your shoulders feel like stone after another long working week. Maybe you’re physically exhausted, mentally overwhelmed, or simply craving an hour when nobody needs anything from you.
With so many different massage treatments available, choosing the right one can sometimes feel confusing.
But here’s something I always tell my clients:
You don’t need to know everything about massage techniques. You just need to tell me how your body feels.
Let’s explore a few common situations and find out which treatment might suit you best.
1. Your neck and shoulders are constantly tense
Try: Office Syndrome Massage
You spend hours sitting at a desk, looking at a screen, working on your laptop or scrolling through your phone.
By the end of the day, your shoulders have slowly crept towards your ears, your neck feels stiff, and there’s that familiar tightness between your shoulder blades.
Sound familiar? 😄
Office Syndrome Massage is designed to focus on the areas most commonly affected by prolonged sitting, repetitive movements and desk-based work.
During this treatment, I pay particular attention to the neck, shoulders, upper back and surrounding muscles.
The goal is to ease muscular tension, improve comfort and help you feel less restricted in your everyday movements.
Perfect for: Office workers, people working from home, and anyone who spends long hours in one position.
2. Your muscles feel deeply tight and overloaded
Try: Deep Tissue Massage
Sometimes a gentle massage simply isn’t what you’re looking for.
Your back feels heavy, your muscles feel tight, and you have specific areas that seem to need more focused attention.
Deep Tissue Massage uses slower, more targeted techniques to work with muscular tension and areas of restriction.
It can be particularly helpful for people with physically demanding jobs, regular exercise routines or persistent muscular tightness.
But here’s something important:
Deep Tissue doesn’t mean painful massage.
You don’t need to grit your teeth or hold your breath to get a good result.
I always adjust the pressure according to your comfort, your body’s response and what feels appropriate during the session.
And if you prefer stronger pressure, you can tell me that too.
Massage should be a conversation between the therapist and your body - not a competition to see how much discomfort you can tolerate.
Perfect for: Deep muscular tension, overworked muscles and those who prefer more focused bodywork.
3. You’re exhausted, stressed and just need to stop
Try: Relaxation or Serenity Massage
Not every massage needs to focus on a problem.
Sometimes nothing is particularly wrong.
You’re simply tired.
Your mind has been running all week, your responsibilities never seem to end, and you can’t remember the last time you truly switched off.
This is where a Relaxation or Serenity Massage can be a beautiful choice.
With gentle, flowing movements and a comfortable rhythm, the focus is on helping your body relax and creating a peaceful moment away from everyday demands.
You don’t have to talk.
You don’t have to think about your to-do list.
And you certainly don’t have to be productive.
For once, your only responsibility is to lie down and enjoy your treatment.
Perfect for: Stressful weeks, mental fatigue, difficulty switching off and anyone who simply needs a moment of calm.
4. Your body feels heavy, puffy or swollen
Try: Lymphatic Drainage Massage
Have you ever noticed that your legs feel heavier after a long day standing, travelling or spending hours sitting down?
Or perhaps you sometimes experience mild puffiness and a feeling of fluid retention.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage uses gentle, rhythmic techniques designed to encourage the movement of lymphatic fluid.
Some clients find it helpful for relaxation and temporary feelings of heaviness or puffiness.
Unlike Deep Tissue Massage, this treatment isn’t about applying strong pressure to the muscles.
In fact, when working with the superficial lymphatic system, lighter techniques are generally more appropriate.
It’s also important to remember that lymphatic drainage is not a weight-loss treatment, and unexplained or persistent swelling should always be assessed by a healthcare professional before booking.
Perfect for: Clients seeking a gentle treatment focused on temporary puffiness, comfort and relaxation, where massage is appropriate.
5. You want a little bit of everything
Try: 90-Minute Face + Body Ritual
Sometimes you don’t want to choose between a body massage and a facial treatment.
You want both. And why not? 😄
My 90-minute Face + Body Ritual combines:
60 minutes of body massage to focus on muscular tension, relaxation and overall comfort.
30 minutes of face massage to ease facial tension, relax the jaw and leave your face feeling refreshed.
It’s a lovely combination because we often forget just how much tension we carry in our faces.
The jaw, temples, forehead and surrounding muscles can all become tense, particularly during stressful periods.
This ritual gives us time to care for both your body and face in one appointment.
Perfect for: A complete self-care experience, special occasions, or simply when you want to give yourself a little extra time.
6. Still not sure which massage to choose?
That’s absolutely fine.
You don’t need to arrive at inSoul Wellness with a detailed understanding of anatomy or massage techniques.
Before your treatment, we’ll have a short consultation.
I’ll ask how you’ve been feeling, whether you have any areas of discomfort, what kind of pressure you prefer and what you’d like from your appointment.
We’ll also discuss any relevant health conditions or contraindications.
And together, we can decide which approach is most suitable.
Sometimes the massage you originally booked isn’t exactly what your body needs that day.
And that’s okay.
Where appropriate, I can adapt the techniques and pressure to create a treatment that feels right for you.
The name of the massage is simply a starting point. Your individual needs are what matter most.
A little advice before you book
If there’s one thing I’d love you to remember, it’s this:
You don’t always have to wait until your neck becomes stiff, your back feels uncomfortable or your stress becomes overwhelming before booking a massage.
You can choose massage simply because you enjoy taking care of yourself.
And your needs can change.
One month you may benefit from deeper muscular work. Another month you might prefer a relaxing treatment.
There is no single massage that everyone needs, and no single technique that suits every situation.
The best massage isn’t necessarily the strongest, the longest or the most expensive. It’s the one that suits your body and your needs on that particular day.
And if you’re unsure, I’m always happy to help you choose.
With love,
Olena💖
