Your Body Remembers Everything

Hello Beautiful Soul,🌷

Have you ever noticed how difficult it can be to truly relax?

You finally have a quiet moment.

There is nowhere to go.

Nothing you need to do.

And yet your shoulders are still tense.

Your jaw is tight.

Your breathing is shallow.

Your body is still waiting for the next thing to happen.

We often think stress lives only in our minds.

But our bodies experience our lives, too.

Every busy morning.

Every sleepless night.

Every difficult conversation.

Every moment we tell ourselves, “I’ll deal with it later.”

Every time we stay strong when, inside, we really want to let go.

Our bodies adapt.

We hold our shoulders a little higher.

We clench our jaw without noticing.

We breathe a little less deeply.

We carry tension in our neck, back, hips and muscles.

And sometimes, we don’t even realise how much we have been holding until someone finally gives us permission to let go.

This is one of the most beautiful things I witness during massage.

Every body responds differently.

Some people fall asleep within minutes.

Some suddenly take their first really deep breath in days.

Some become very quiet.

Some want to talk.

And sometimes, unexpectedly, someone becomes emotional.

There is nothing wrong with that.

When we finally slow down and the body begins to feel safe enough to soften, emotions that have been held back can sometimes come to the surface.

Massage doesn’t erase the past.

It doesn’t magically heal every wound.

But it can create something incredibly valuable:

space.

Space to breathe.

Space to soften.

Space to stop carrying everything for a little while.

And sometimes, that is exactly what we need.

Not another solution.

Not another thing to achieve.

Just one hour where nobody needs anything from us.

Where we don’t have to be strong.

Where we can simply lie down, breathe and let someone take care of us.

I believe this is why regular massage can become so much more than physical care.

It can become a ritual of returning to yourself.

A reminder to your body:

You are allowed to rest.

You are allowed to let go.

You don’t have to carry everything all the time.

And perhaps healing doesn’t always begin with finding the right words.

Sometimes it begins with one deep breath.

Relaxing your shoulders.

Unclenching your jaw.

Feeling your body become a little softer.

And remembering what it feels like to simply be.

Your body has carried you through everything you’ve lived.

Maybe it’s time to give something back to it.

With love,
